Over the last weekend, I finally obtained a newer point and shoot camera. (to go along with my DSLR of course!)
The new camera is wonderful! It can be used in rain, or shine and could go under water (which is a great feature!). Even though the camera is brand new, and it is a sport-point-and-shoot camera, it still takes wonderful photographs to treasure as well as provide a durable outer cover to protect photo shoot appointments in the rain.
You may be asking to yourself....
What kind of photos can be taken in the rain? How can this help enhance a rainy day photo shoot I had planned for a sunny day?
Although rain my be annoying (especially if it is down-pouring or a thunderstorm, in which case photography outdoors would NOT be advised or safe), it can offer some different options. You can be wearing matching outfits, and have an orange umbrella to bring out lighter colors in your pictures. For examples, if you are interested in a couple/engagement photo shoot and it happens to be raining, how cute could it be to have the couple under the umbrella smiling at each other (or even kissing for that matter!). I can imagine a scene with trees in the background and a close up of a couple glowing at each other under an umbrella..the rain not seeming like it is bothering them. As well as the rain can also help enhance outdoor surroundings. The rain tends to bring out colors in nature beautifully!
You do not have to have a photo shoot in the rain, but....it can be a fun option. Especially since services can be provided!

ISO for Beginners
As summer draws near, many of you may wonder how to tone down lighting or increase lighting in pictures. Since my experiences with photography have increased over the last year, so has all of the technical aspects of my DSLR camera.
Over Memorial Day weekend, I worked on shooting adults, toddler, and action photography. Along with that, I took some 1 on 1 time to demonstrate the ISO settings on the camera.
ISO stands for the sensitivity of the image sensor. Higher ISO generally stands for low light situations (such as nighttime pictures and dark rooms), and opposite for lighter situations...
Here is an example of ISO settings in your camera. We will work on Aperture another day!
As you can see, ISO plays a HUGE role in pictures!

It's almost Summer in DLWM Photography!
It's almost Summertime, which can only mean one thing...picture time! Now is the time to get georgous outdoor photos of you and your family, or just yourself, or you and your significant other...
Now included with ALL photos (along with your CD), you will get a Print release to take anywhere you want to get your pictures developed (as well as any hard copies of photos you'd like). I also have recently drawn up a Wedding contract for anyone interested in Wedding photography. As well model and group releases.
I will discuss out your perfect day with you down to the last detail! It'll help us plan out a better photo session for everyone as your perfect day lingers on....and so do the memories with your photos!
I recently have taken more outdoor pictures, as well as more toddler photos. I took an enchanting picture of a little girl standing back to the door and her head turned towards the camera..so many tricks, and so many new photos...

It's been awhile since I have written, and I promise more pictures are coming....it has been a crazy two weeks and I have not had the time to upload! They will be coming soon....hopefully within the next week. In the meantime, DLWM Photography has landed on Facebook! Simply click 'like' and get photography tips and updates all the time!
With the new kickoff to Facebook, I now have a deal available for a week. From May 21st till May 28th anyone who schedules a photo session will get a FREE 8 by 10 Photo!
How do I claim the deal??
Simply go to Facebook and click 'claim deal'. From there you must print it off and schedule your photo session. Your photo session does not have to take place within the week, but it will be good anytime you desire to call and schedule your photo shoot!

As the last few weeks have gone, I finished off my 'Composition of Photography' class. In class we went to a local park and got many, many pictures, as well as got much needed exercise. I have some updated pictures to post (recently I have had trouble posting them).
I hope to update my site by next week with some new photos!
