Questions About Your Session

Many people have never experienced the joy of having a Personal Photographer, they only know of studio's they see in the mall or in department stores.  Over the last few years, having a personal photographer in your life has gotten to be a known idea in your local neighborhood.

For those of you who are new to a personal photographer here are a few Questions and Answers about your sessions.

How should we dress?  Dress relaxed, but pick clothes that bring out your personality.  Depending on your location, having a plain colored shirt would bring you out.  For example, picking a park with lots of dark green tree's in the middle of summertime would be beautiful against a plain red colored shirt against the background of you're shoot.  Having patterns isn't a problem either!  Just make sure if you have a partner with you (weather it be a sibling, friend, or significant other) that the patterns go well together.

FOR BRIDES:  Some brides are excited to wear their wedding dress, and some are interested in doing a solo session in just the gown weather it be before or after the wedding.  If you are interested in doing this, let me know and we can plan a date and time to set this up.

I have a newborn baby, how should we dress the baby during the session?  During a newborn session, I would suggest that the baby be in a plain colored onsie, and I am always in favor of white colored onsie's.  Wearing a pink or blue onsie will always be a wonderful color for the new baby (and would suggest this for at least one point during your session), but a white onsie will help bring out the angelic innocence of the infant.  When my daughter was a newborn, white was always beautiful for her pictures.

I'm interested, but how long do these sessions take?  Over the last year of doing photography sessions, I've come to find out that sessions last anywhere between 1 and 3 hours.  This time frame all depends on your location, the time of day, and how quickly we get going during your session.  I recently took 2 friends to a park for a photo shoot and although we have known each other for years, it took the first half an hour until we figured out where in the park was the best place for photos (and also a place everyone was comfortable at), as well as a place that would work well with my camera and make beautiful backgrounds as well.  I've come to find out the first half an hour is basically any ice breakers as well as getting to know you.
During couple shoots I also like to let the couples go off by themselves (to a point) while I hang around behind them catching glimpses of their silhouettes and getting them relaxed around each other.  The beauty of these photo shoots is not even remembering that I'm there getting pictures for you.

Anyone who brings a business card of mine to their session will get 10% off their session!
